Wadi Al Ibdaa

Wadi Al Fann, KSA

Our project in Wadi Al Ibdaa seamlessly integrates the natural and built environments, overlaying a geometric grid on the rugged terrain to create a harmonious dialogue between the man-made and the organic. This grid serves as a structural framework, an accessibility infrastructure to experience a landscape of sandstone mountains, deep canyons, and ancient riverbeds shaped over millennia by wind and water.
Inspired by the Nabatean civilization, our design merges the ancient and modern, highlighting the interplay between irregular forms and the precision of the grid. Acting as a unifying element, it connects various parts of the design while providing a framework and a limit for future growth.
Through this juxtaposition of natural textures and architectural lines, we celebrate the tension between control and chaos, emphasizing the unique beauty of both environments. The design seeks to honor the grandeur of Wadi Al Ibdaa while fostering a space that is timeless and contemporary.
